On June 27, 2024, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei called on the new Governor of Al-Jahra Governorate Hamad Jassim Mohammad Al-Habashi. They exchanged views on how to deepen bilateral cooperation.

Ambassador Zhang congratulated Hamad on his appointment and said a large number of Chinese enterprises opt to make investment and do business in the Al-Jahar Governorate because of its vast land, ample resources and tremendous development potential. The Chinese Embassy in Kuwait is committed to serving as a bridge for facilitating sub-national cooperation between the two sides, and will work to enhance exchanges between the Al-Jahra Governorate and provinces and cities of China and expand mutually-beneficial cooperation in the areas of infrastructure construction, energy, economy and trade, in order to improve the wellbeing of the two peoples.
