On July 1, 2024, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei met with Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al-Sabah. Defense Attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait Xue Chuanlai was present during the meeting.

Ambassador Zhang pointed out that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Kuwait relationship has risen to new heights and bilateral cooperation has produced fruitful results in various fields. China is prepared to work with Kuwait to follow through on the important common understandings between the two heads of state and bolster cooperation on defense, law enforcement and security between the two sides, which will further enrich our strategic partnership.

For his part, Fahad remarked that Kuwait treasures its traditional friendship with China and attaches high importance to the growth of relations with China. Kuwait will join hands with China to implement the important common understandings between the two heads of state and further deepen strategic mutual trust as well as exchanges and cooperation in various fields.
