On July 3, 2024, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei called on Foreign Minister of Kuwait Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya.

Ambassador Zhang noted that with personal commitment and guidance of President Xi Jinping and Amir Sheikh Mishal, China-Kuwait relations have maintained sound momentum and enjoys broad prospects, adding that China is ready to work actively with the Kuwaiti side to move forward with our practical cooperation in various areas and step up people-to-people and cultural exchanges, so as to build an ever-stronger China-Kuwait strategic partnership that will deliver tangible outcomes.

For his part, Yahya stressed that Kuwait values its long-lasting friendship with China and treats China as a strategic partner. He added that Kuwait will make joint efforts with China to implement the important consensus between the leaders of the two nations and make bilateral cooperation more productive for the greater benefit of the two peoples.
