On July 16, 2024, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei met with Secretary General of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Dr. Pornchai Danvivathana.

Ambassador Zhang appreciated ACD’s positive role in promoting understanding, cooperation and friendship among Asian countries and thanked Secretary General Dr. Pornchai for his efforts to facilitate friendly cooperation between member countries. He said China always values and takes an active part in the ACD cooperation process, adding that China will work with all sides to stay committed to the vision of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation and write a new chapter of ACD’s future together.

For his part, Dr. Pornchai briefed Ambassador Zhang on the outcomes of ACD’s development and cooperation in recent years and provided information on the 19th ACD Ministerial Meeting. China is a major member of the Asian family, he said, noting that the ACD Secretariate will continue to deepen cooperation with China, contribute to fostering synergy in Asia and work to advance the building of an Asian Community.
