On November 4 and 5, 2024, Mr. Liu Xiang, Charge d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait, attended as the representative of the Chinese side the fourth high-level international conference on counterterrorism – the Kuwait phase of the Dushanbe Process held in the Kuwait City.
Liu Xiang talked about China’s views on international and regional counterterrorism and security issues, as well as its measures and achievements in respect of international cooperation in this regard and its crackdown on violent terrorist incidents. He stressed that the Global Security Initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping provides a useful guidance for international cooperation on counterterrorism, saying that all countries should pursue the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind and embrace the vision of common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable security. Countries should strengthen capacity building, deepen pragmatic cooperation and adopt a holistic approach to addressing the root causes of terrorism. China stands ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the field of counterterrorism with other sides so as to ensure international and regional security and stability.
The high-level international conference of the Dushanbe Process on countering terrorism was launched in 2018 and co-organized by the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism, the government of Tajikistan and the related partner countries and international organizations.
