Ambassador Zhang Jianwei Meets with Chief Representative of HKTDC’s Middle East and Africa Office Lin Guojun

On November 18, 2024, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei met with the chief representative of the Middle East and Africa Office of Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) Mr. Lin Guojun. Hu Hanming, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy, was present at the meeting.



Ambassador Zhang said that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and Amir Sheikh Mishal, practical cooperation between China and Kuwait in energy infrastructure, financial investment and other areas have been thriving and productive over the recent years. Noting the ongoing economic diversification in Kuwait, he said that as the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) is an international financial and trading center with a thriving ecosystem of innovation and technology, its practical cooperation with Kuwait in various areas has broad prospects. The Chinese Embassy will strongly support the HKSAR’s efforts to exploit its unique advantages to further enhance exchanges and cooperation with various sectors of Kuwait. He hoped that the HKTDC’s visit would achieve the outcomes as expected.



Mr. Lin said the HKTDC attaches high importance to exchanges and cooperation with Kuwait and other GCC countries and will further harness the untapped potential of cooperation with the support and guidance of the Chinese Embassy so as to better serve the overall development of China.
