On December 9, 2024, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei called on the new Chief of Kuwait National Guard Sheikh Mubarak Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. They exchanged their opinions on deepening military-to-military exchange and cooperation between China and Kuwait. Defense Attaché of the Chinese Embassy Xue Chuanlai was also present during the visit.

Ambassador Zhang congratulated Sheikh Mubarak on his new appointment. He said with the personal care and strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and Amir Sheikh Meshal, China-Kuwait relations have maintained a sound momentum and our military-to-military exchanges have also become ever more vibrant. China is ready to work with the Kuwaiti side to implement the important common understandings between the two heads of state and keep enhancing military-to-military exchange and cooperation in a bid to further enrich our strategic partnership.

For his part, Mubarak said Kuwait values its long-lasting friendship with China. It will continue to increase exchanges and mutual visits and deepen military-to-military cooperation so as to make new contributions to the progress of Kuwait-China strategic partnership.
