On March 3, 2025, Ambassador Zhang Jianwei attended the signing ceremony for two infrastructure projects, namely T-1253 and T-1402, located in the Saad Al-Abdullah New City, during which he met with Kuwait’s Minister of State for Housing Affairs and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Abdul Latif Al-Mishari. The ceremony was also attended by Hu Hanming, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy, and the representative of the Chinese enterprise concerned.

Ambassador Zhang noted that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China-Kuwait practical cooperation has continued to develop in depth. He hoped the parties to the contracts will maintain close coordination to deliver the projects on schedule and to a high standard. Abdul Latif applauded the new progress in bilateral cooperation and expected more Chinese enterprises to engage in the construction of local residential communities to the benefit of the Kuwaiti people.

Deputy General Manager of China Gezhouba Group International Engineering Co., Ltd. He Baisen and Acting General Manager of the Public Authority for Housing Welfare Rashid Al-Enezi signed the $557 million contracts for two projects which involve the construction of infrastructure in the Saad Al-Abdullah New City such as roads and underground pipeline networks.
