On December 31, 2025, Ambassador Yang Xin, the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the State of Kuwait, arrived in Kuwait City to assume office. Ambassador Yang was greeted at the airport by the officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait and other principals of the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait.

Ambassador Yang Xin said that he was honored to assume the post on the eve of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Kuwait, and felt deeply honored by the mission and the weight of legacy. Kuwait was the first Gulf Arab country to establish diplomatic relations with China, and bilateral relations have long been at the forefront of China's relations with regional countries. In recent years, President Xi Jinping and Kuwait's Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah have met twice, jointly outlining a new blueprint for the development of the China-Kuwait strategic partnership. As the new Ambassador, I will fully implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, work diligently in performing my duties and take responsibility to further deepen and solidify the China-Kuwait strategic partnership, continuously enhancing the well-being of the two peoples.
Ambassador Yang Xin is the fifteenth Chinese Ambassador to the State of Kuwait.
