On February 10, 2026, Ambassador of China to Kuwait Yang Xin met with Sheikh Nawaf Al-Sabah, the vice chairman and CEO of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC).

Ambassador Yang said, under the strategic guidance and personal promotion of the two heads of state, the strategic partnership between China and Kuwait has been continuing to deepen and yield substantive results. China and Kuwait have highly complementary economies and are highly compatible in areas such as technological innovation and industrial synergy. The cooperation between KPC and Chinese enterprises has expanded from crude oil extraction and trade to refining, petrochemicals and other fields, achieving fruitful results. China's continued expansion of high-level opening-up during the 15th Five-Year Plan period will provide Kuwaiti companies, including KPC, with broader markets and more opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation.

Sheikh Nawaf Al-Sabah welcomed Ambassador Yang to his new post, highly praised the practical cooperation achievements between Kuwait and China, expressed his firm optimism about China's economic development prospects, and stated that KPC will more actively explore the Chinese market.
