On May 24, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Yang Xin paid a courtesy visit to Sheikh Saoud Salem Abdulaziz Al-Sabah, Managing Director of the Kuwait Investment Authority (KIA). 

Ambassador Yang Xin noted that, in recent years, China-Kuwait strategic partnership has kept deepening, with fruitful results achieved through bilateral cooperation in two-way investment, infrastructure construction and energy. The 15th Five-Year Plan of China draws up a blueprint for national development in the next five years, and more importantly, injects much-needed stability and certainty to the world economy, he said, adding that this will create more opportunities to further increase investment cooperation between China and Kuwait. China is ready to work with Kuwait, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, strengthen exchanges and cooperation in investment and other areas so as to deliver more practical benefits to the two peoples.  

For his part, Saoud congratulated Ambassador Yang on his appointment, saying that China-Kuwait economic and trade cooperation has continued to yield fruitful results and enjoys bright prospects. Kuwait has confidence in China’s massive market and diverse investment opportunities there, and will work with China to implement the important consensus reached between the two heads of state and raise both the quality and quantity of two-way investment cooperation, so as to contribute to the economic growth of both countries.
