On May 25, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Yang Xin paid a courtesy visit to Omar Saud Abdul Aziz Al-Omar, Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology and Acting Minister of Information and Culture.

Ambassador Yang Xin said, China and Kuwait enjoy a traditional friendship, and under the strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and H.H. Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, bilateral relations have have achieved significant development. Cooperation in information, communications, press and culture is an integral part of China-Kuwait relations, and we have achieved fruitful results in the related sectors. China stands ready to work with Kuwait to implement the important consensus reached between the two heads of state and continue to deepen mutually-beneficial cooperation in various fields, in a bid to deliver greater benefits to the two peoples.  

For his part, Omar congratulated Ambassador Yang Xin on his appointment and highly praised the progress in bilateral relations, saying that he was very proud of the outcomes of bilateral cooperation in the fields of information, communications, press and culture. He expressed the willingness to maintain close communication and coordination with the Chinese side, further deepen cooperation in the related sectors and make continual progress in bilateral relations.
