On June 15, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Yang Xin paid a courtesy visit to Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Governor of the Capital Governorate (Al Asimah Governorate) in Kuwait. 

Ambassador Yang Xin said, China and Kuwait enjoy time-honored friendship and there are huge potential and complementarity in our cooperation. China will work with Kuwait to implement the important common understandings reached between the two heads of state, advance bilateral cooperation projects at a faster pace, and elevate the China-Kuwait strategic partnership to higher heights.

For his part, Sheikh Abdullah noted that Kuwait values Kuwait-China friendship and mutual trust, and attaches great importance to the expansion of bilateral cooperation into broader fields. Kuwait will work with China to deliver those cooperation projects signed under the witness of the two heads of state, so as to make greater progress in bilateral relations.
