On June 21, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Yang Xin paid a courtesy visit to Sherida Abdullah Saad Al-Maousharji, Kuwait Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs.

Ambassador Yang Xin said, this year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Kuwait, and bilateral relations have made notable progress in this process, with our cooperation expanded continually to wider fields. Over the recent years, President Xi Jinping and Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Amirof Kuwait have two successful meetings , providing strategic guidance for taking China-Kuwait relations to greater heights. China stands ready to work with Kuwait to implement the important common understandings between the two heads of state and work hard to make new, greater progress in the China-Kuwait strategic partnership.
For his part, Sherida spoke positively of Kuwait-China relations, stressing that Kuwait attaches great importance to the effective implementation of major cooperation documents signed under the witness of the two heads of state and is willing to deepen bilateral cooperation in various fields. Kuwait commended China’s efforts during the ongoing regional conflict to bring about ceasefire and end hostilities, and expected China to play a bigger role in safeguarding and promoting peace and stability in the Middle East.
