On July 2, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Yang Xin paid a courtesy visit to Nasser Yousef Mohammed Al-Sumait, the Minister of Justice of Kuwait.

Ambassador Yang Xin said, over the past 55 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Kuwait, bilateral relations have maintained positive growth, and exchanges and cooperation between the two sides have yielded fruitful results in various fields. China has made it clear that all-round law-based governance serves as its fundamental policy in governing the country, and it will further promote the rule of law under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on the Rule of Law. China stands ready to work with Kuwait to further enhance exchanges and cooperation in the judicial field and provide strong safeguards for our practical cooperation, including the high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.  

For his part, Nasser highly commended China’s achievements in advancing the rule of law, and said that Kuwait attaches great importance to developing friendly relations with China. He expressed willingness to work with China to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the judicial field, promote the exchange of governance experience and provide a sound legal environment for Chinese enterprises to start and do business in Kuwait.
