On July 14, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Yang Xin paid a visit to Undersecretary of Kuwait National Guard (KNG) Lieutenant General Hamad Al-Barjas.

Ambassador Yang Xin said, over the 55 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Kuwait, the two countries have kept expanding exchanges and cooperation and renewing our friendship. In recent years, under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, bilateral relations have shown broad prospects for development. China is ready to work with Kuwait to make bilateral cooperation in various fields, including in military security, more productive.

For his part, Hamad appreciated China’s various support for Kuwait’s development over the years, noting that the two countries enjoy traditional friendship and military-to-military exchanges and cooperation have grown steadily. He expressed willingness to work with China to carry out more practical cooperation projects, saying that this will further substantiate our strategic partnership.
