On July 26, 2026, the signing ceremony for China-Kuwait cooperation on a wastewater treatment project in Kuwait was held. The event was attended by Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Yang Xin, Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah and other relevant officials. The contract was signed by Kuwaiti Minister of Public Works Noura Al-Mashaan and General Manager of China State Construction Engineering Corporation Ltd. (CSCEC) Mr. Wen Bing, on behalf of the two sides.   

In his speech, Ambassador Yang Xin said, signing the contract for the wastewater project marks another milestone in implementing the cooperation documents signed under the witness of the two heads of state. China will encourage more well-established and capable Chinese companies to make Chinese smart manufacturing, solutions and speed possible in Kuwait. China stands ready to work with Kuwait to implement the important consensus reached between the two heads of state, keep enhancing strategic mutual trust, and deepen practical cooperation, so as to achieve shared development and jointly contribute to the building of a China-Kuwait community with a shared future.     

Noura said at the ceremony that the contract signing, a key step in the process of Kuwait’s development, reflects the deepened practical cooperation between Kuwait and China. The two countries are moving together toward turning our shared vision into tangible results.
