On August 2, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Yang Xin met with Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs of Kuwait Nawaf Abdullatif Sulaiman Al-Ahmed. The two sides exchanges opinions on bilateral relations and issues of common concern.

Ambassador Yang Xin said, the Chinese government attaches great importance to the protection of the life and property of overseas institutions and personnel. Noting the ongoing tensions in the region, he expressed hope that Kuwait will further strengthen security protection for Chinese personnel, projects and institutions in Kuwait.       

For his part, Nawaf said that Kuwait attaches great importance to the security of all people in Kuwait including the Chinese people, adding that Kuwait will take further actions to ensure the security of Chinese citizens and institutions in Kuwait.
