On August 23, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Yang Xin attended the “Chinese & Kuwaiti Tea Art and Treats Tasting” event held at the China Cultural Center in Kuwait. The event was also attended by Secretary General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) Dr. Mohammed Khaled Al-Jassar and other guests from various sectors.

Ambassador Yang Xin noted that this year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Kuwait. Over the past 55 years, the two countries have always respected each other, treated each other as equals, and engaged in fruitful, mutually-beneficial cooperation. Cultural exchanges have become a bridge bringing the two peoples closer. Tea, for its part, carries thousands of years of Chinese cultural heritage. The event gave the guests a deeper appreciation of the essence of Chinese culture -- harmony in diversity, openness and inclusiveness. China will work with Kuwait to further enrich our people-to-people exchanges and write a new chapter in our friendship.
Jassar highly appraised people-to-people exchanges between the two sides, saying that Kuwait values its friendship with China and will continue to work with China to carry out more cultural activities in diverse forms to promote mutual learning between different civilizations.

At the event, guests enjoyed Chinese and Kuwaiti tea art and refreshments, getting a firsthand taste of Chinese and Arab cultural traditions.
