On August 31, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Yang Xin met with Russian Ambassador to Kuwait Vladimir Zheltov. The two sides exchanged opinions on the two states’ respective relations with Kuwait and the Middle East situation. 

Ambassador Yang Xin briefed Zheltov on the latest developments of China-Kuwait relations and elaborated on China’s principles and position on the Middle East situation. He stressed that the current situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region has once again reached a critical juncture, adding that the parties concerned should return to dialogue and negotiation as soon as possible. China calls for resolving differences through dialogue and negotiation, and stands ready to work with the parties concerned to make positive contributions to regional peace and stability.

For his part, Zheltov provided information on the development of Russia-Kuwait relations and Russia’s position on the hot spot issues in the Middle East, and expressed willingness to maintain communication on the regional situation.
