On September 8, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Yang Xin met with Anne Montavon, Head of the Regional Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

Ambassador Yang Xin said, China stands for the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind, attaches great importance to the international humanitarian cause, and has actively participated in international humanitarian affairs. The four global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping and the ICRC’s mission and goals are similar. China is ready to further strengthen humanitarian cooperation with the ICRC and work with it to advance the cause of peace and progress for humanity.     

For her part, Anne highly commended the four global initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping and spoke positively of China’s important contributions to the progress of the international humanitarian cause. She said the ICRC is looking forward to stronger cooperation with China in the Gulf region so as to make new, greater contributions to regional peace and stability.
