On September 9, 2026, Chinese Ambassador to Kuwait Yang Xin met with UK Ambassador to Kuwait Qudsi Rasheed. The two sides exchanged opinions on the Middle East situation and other issues.

Ambassador Yang Xin stressed that President Xi Jinping has put forward  important proposals and initiatives, including four propositions on safeguarding and promoting peace and stability in the Middle East, four principles on advancing the settlement of the Palestinian question and four proposals on improving the common security of the Middle East, offering Chinese solutions for securing lasting stability and security in the overall situation in the Middle East. China supports all efforts conducive to deescalating the tensions and resuming dialogue. China will continue to work with the parties concerned to play a positive role in safeguarding regional peace and stability.

For his part, Rasheed provided information on UK’s positions on the US-Israel-Iran conflict and the Palestinian question, saying that the UK is committed to deescalating the regional situation and promoting a political settlement of the Palestinian question based on the two-State solution. The UK will maintain communication with China in this regard.
